Project Information
Plico Design Studio is an Architecture, Interior Design and Heritage Research practice in Port Melbourne. We worked directly with the two principals of the practice to develop a web presence that positions Plico in the contemporary design space while ensuring a timeless presence that will remain relevant for years to come. We worked with Plico’s existing logo to develop a new design system for the digital touchpoint, including utilising the bar from their logo to create rollovers. The flexible design and build of the website means that each page can be completely custom with limitless layouts and structures - this was an important feature considering their wide variety of projects, from sensitive home extensions to Solar Farm designs or operating rooms at Healesville Sanctuary. Another important element of the brief was to include an experimental aspect, allowing people to discover an unexpected playfulness. We used the homepage of the site to create a playful ‘drop’ of imagery when prompted to ‘explore’, with each image then becoming a pinball that can be dragged and flicked around or off the screen (we highly recommend having a play!).
